An American Garage Door Factory Steelback is like having a block wall that rolls up and down every day. They are safer, stronger, quieter, and offer more security as well! Our steelbacks are made up of three layers, one of which is woodgrain steelback with safe, stable, and rigid polystyrene insulation. Unlike some of the higher R-value polyurethane doors that other companies sell, rigid polystyrene will not bubble, peel, or become brittle. We only use polystyrene that is rock solid and has been tested over and over again. The fact that we use special density foam and two layers of steel with our pressure-max bonding in our American Garage Door Factory process says it all. Our steelbacks work perfectly because we only use solid sheets of foam to insulate, unlike other companies that use several pieces. The steelback model is stronger, uses less energy, and is quieter.
OUR STANDARD 2” Our thick, uninsulated pan door has a unique raised shadowline that makes it stronger and stops oil canning, which makes waves and dips that pop and ping on garage doors. We give you extra strength at no extra cost at American Garage Door Factory! Our Formula 124 steel is thicker and heavier than the 25 GA or 26 GA models made by other companies. We use thicker, heavy-duty end and center brace stiles to better support your door because we want it to work well and be quiet. Our end stiles are different from others because they are quietly glued and mechanically fastened to make sure they work better and quieter. We use a 1 Mil thick baked-on polyester paint coating on the outside to protect it better than anyone else. Others only use a 1/2 Mil finish on the inside. For better protection, we put a full 1 Mil thick coating on the inside and outside. Hot-dipped galvanized steel is used to make things that last longer. You get great protection from the weather when you add a rust-proof bottom weather seal retainer with a replaceable bottom seal.
